Song title: Fable Moon
From the album: A Broke Machine

What if the moon, in its weary state of reflective existence, refused to continue shining in our sky?

...I imagine what the future world would look like, once nobody alive could recall the presence of the moon... Would it be like trying to remember what we were like before our hearts were broken for the first time?

There's a short story, published in Cosmicomics by Italo Calvino, titled "The Distance of the Moon" and it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever read. The moon engages the imagination of poetic souls who feel like they could poke its surface with the mere extension of a finger. Sometimes I want to climb a ladder to the moon, console it for its lifetime effort of longsuffering, and leave behind a token in gratitude for all the inspiration it's given to me.
